I really didn’t know what to expect with this product from the description, but I ordered it as the manufacturer recommended its use prior to painting. Upon receiving it and reading the product composition and application instructions, I see that the chemistry involved is quite sound. It is a phosphate/zinc composition that forms an iron phosphate passivation layer on the metal and the zinc compound then provides (albeit thin) a galvanized surface layer.
